Beth Svendsgaard

Criminal Defense Section Paralegal

Beth Svendsgaard has called Raleigh home since graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1988 where she majored in Political Science. Beth received her certificate in Paralegal Studies from Meredith College, also in 1988, and has worked as a certified paralegal since that time other than a period of time when she stayed home with her three children. Beth has worked primarily in catastrophic personal injury and medical malpractice, but also in civil rights and environmental law. She now works in Tharrington Smith’s criminal law section with attorneys Douglas Kingsbery and Howard Cummings. One of the things Beth loves most about being a paralegal is that it allows her on a daily basis the ability to put to use her sense of curiosity to assist in building a case. Beth’s passions outside of work include volunteering with Raleigh City Farm, cooking vegan food, learning more about environmental issues, and helping animals. She also loves spending time with her sons, Jack, Harry, and Gus, and their dog, Junebug.
